Issue #32: The Campground Quest
After a week off to celebrate Thanksgiving—President Thrik is famously a connoisseur of American cuisine—The Adventurer is BACK.
What’s Going On?
Not that much, although Mastedon is increasingly looking like the place to get your Ron Gilbert news:
I'm back to working on my pixel RPG game. I stopped working on it a few years ago when Return to Monkey Island started up. The RPG is doing some new and odd things that weren't quite working. I think it's what I enjoy the most about game dev: finding something that doesn't work and figuring out the solution.

Meanwhile, over on his blog, you can see an early puzzle dependency chart for Return to Monkey Island, or, as it is now known, Golden Joystick Winner Return to Monkey Island.
It’s a LucasFilm World
I might not have gulped down the LucasFilm Kool-Aid quite as hard as Jason has, but I will admit to being vaguely optimistic after seeing the new Indy trailer.
Conversely, I was into The Phantom Menace trailer back in the day, too, and we all know how that went. (The film is commonly considered an outright masterpiece.)
If that isn’t enough, Bethesda is moving full speed ahead with the Indy game they may or may not be working on. There’s always Fallout 76 to keep you occupied, I guess?
Elsewhere, Mojo has, over the last couple of years, been Willow central. You’ll be happy to know the series is now streaming on Disney+, and Mojo timely has stopped covering it. (Seemingly—Jason sure has been quiet.)
Never Forget: Psychonauts 2
Sure, no one has forgotten about it, but as I recently was playing the Psychonauts 2 OST, it’s always good to remember we live in a world where McConnell, Land, and Bajakian are again making LucasArts+-related music together. To wit:
Those six jams from “Volume 2” are gold. Gold.
