Mojo turned twenty-five this year AND we saw another Gilbert/Grossman Monkey Island. We celebrate by making loose promises of celebrating this next year.
Christmas through New Year is, perhaps not surprisingly, a quiet time for the greater Mojoverse. (Quieter time might be a better way to put it.) Yet, leave it to LRG to slip one final item in—The Sam & Max Hit the Road Collector’s Edition.
I’m sort of squealing at the $100 price tag, but then, this one seems to come loaded. Mini reprint of the On the Road comic? Sold! Orders open on January 6th.
And that’s about it as far as news goes.
Mojo at Twenty-Five
Look, we were gonna do a retrospective of some kind, but then Return to Monkey Island was announced, and that took precedence.
But we should at least acknowledge that Mojo turned twenty-five this year. And, we’ll stay twenty-five for another six months or so, meaning we will do something or other before the march toward thirty speeds up. (Maybe.)
2022 in a Nutshell
ReMI was what defined us, so let’s just go out with the #MonkeyIslandMonday trailer compilation.
2023: It can’t be as good as 2022 as far as Mojo contents go, but we’ll take it anyway.
