Issue #55: Pearls Before Swine
It has been a bit of a snoozer since the last issue of The Adventurer, so what better time to write a rebuttal to my own article?
A quiet week as it may have been, there were still nuggets of events here and there. Steve Purcell joined Bluesky, for example, and he did so with a banger. Junaid showed off a bonkers Dr. Loboto cosplayer, and, from the Mojo-adjacent side of the house, Wadjet Eye showcased their new game. (That’s a lot of Bluesky, and we can only assume you follow us there like any and all cool kids do.)
Oh, also, Star Wars Outlaws hit Steam – what do you mean you don't care?
OK, not all weeks can be gold, but who knows, maybe Thanksgiving will bring a flood of news? We shall see.

Amiga Redux
The amount of crap I received in the Mojo cubicle farm for my LeChuck’s Revenge/Amiga appraisal was, shall we say, unbridled. Of course, it puts it into some perspective that the former LucasTones editor was the chief critic – a man who, up until last year, used an EGA laptop as his primary computer will have skewed viewpoints. But I digress.
To emphasize where the Amiga really smacked the other versions across the floor, look no further than The Secret of Monkey Island. Often described as having EGA-meets-VGA visuals, only a fool – fool – would claim any other platform’s superiority. To wit:
And if you want to see it in action, well, let’s make it all a bit more esoteric by having a look at the demo:
The music? We showed it off last week, but it bears repeating how well the MOD format worked for these old games:
And, to bring it all home: In the Amiga monkey1.info file, you can read:
Secret of Monkey Icon by Aaron Muszalski....G; with no help from anybody ever! (Especially not Ron Gilbert.) except: Bret Barrett (Hair, logo tweaks)....*; Ben Emmerich (Drapes... and my dishes!)....'; Thanks all! Enjoy the game. Peace......;.....; P.S. I love you Annabelle!
