As 2024 limps to an end, we’re readying our end-of-year article – sure to be a treat for everyone – and have decided to throw in a holiday gift for one lucky reader. Without further ado:
The Double Fine Extravaganza, aka The Contest of a Lifetime (Give or Take)
Here’s how it works: As we’re closing out the year, we’ve set up four polls to check the temperature of our readers. Favorite game? Favorite article? And so on – it’s all part of investigative journalism.
Now, how will this benefit you outside of getting yet another quality Mojo article? We’re usually more of a stick-than-a-carrot operation, but this time, we’re making an exception: For every poll you vote in, you’ll receive an entry in our Double Fine Extravaganza drawing. The prize contains LRG editions of Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, and Day of the Tentacle. And, the jewel of the collection: The coveted triangle box. I mean, what?
Entering the hoopla is easy: First, sign up for a Mojo Forums account if you don’t have one already. Then, vote in the following polls:
That’s it. A random drawing will take place next week, and the winner will be announced in our round-up article.
Looking at the current standing, we can see Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in a commanding lead for “Game of the Year.” Meanwhile, no less than three Monkey Island features are heading up the best article section. What excites you? Apparently, Bill Tiller’s A Vampyre Story: A Bat’s Tale, though Mojo Soundtracks and Ron’s elusive new game (if it does indeed exist) are close behind.
The nailbiter looks to be “Snarkiest Mojo Updater,” where Jason currently is one vote ahead of me, which, seriously? The guy who called you an idiot surely should take that one home singlehandedly. Do your damn civic duty, sheesh.
Finally, to tease out the future, we will have more Double Fine contests in 2025. Stay tuned.
Last Week’s Mojole Results
It’s the game that sweeps the nation! Can you beat Mojole, our fiendishly difficult daily puzzler? Only hardcore LucasArts aficionados need apply.
10 Dec: “turnip#” – Even turnips are involved.
11 Dec: “turnips” – I said 'turnip,' but I meant 'turnips.'
12 Dec: “drink##” – The turnip -- singular -- is used to color the near grog.
13 Dec: “###band” – A hairband comes into play.
14 Dec: “####pin” – A clothespin, too.
15 Dec: “#school” – All these puzzles are very old school, tell you the truth.
16 Dec: “1000###” – It's Mojole number 1,000! (I think. Ignore if I'm wrong.)
And for the competitive amongst you, the Mojole forum thread has gone strong for more than two years. The two juggernauts to beat: Sushi and Huz.
