Issue #62: The Brain Issue
Bad Brain makes a bizarre comeback, so we decided to just make The Adventurer brain-centric this week.
It’s slow going in Mojoland these days, but recently, we saw a blast from the mid-aughts: Dr. Wolfgang Kierdorf is back in the limelight with a retro videocast, which… Well, apparently, it’s doing pretty well, and I can only assume Sam & Max and I-Jet are not topics of conversation.
Meanwhile, forumers vying for Monkey Island Frantic and Monkey Island: Guess That Tune bragging rights show no signs of stopping. Hell, people1 are still even playing Mojole.
And that’s all I got! It’s been a long day, what do you want from me?
Your friend in life,

A Bad Brain Gone Good
If you, like me, regularly troll the internet to figure out what Bad Brain’s Dr. Wolfgang Kierdorf is working on, then look no further than The Verge:
It looks like our favorite almost-publisher of A Vampyre Story is hitting the true retro circuit.
A Commodore 64 CD-ROM? I don’t even know.
In a Giving Mood?
Looking to help support California’s wildfire relief? Double Fine has launched its auction site with all kinds of cool stuff — the proceeds will go to Go Fund Me General Fire Relief Fund and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network.
And when you really want that money rolling in, you obviously will put Spaff, Mojo’s founder, front and center:
Trivia of the Week: Psychonauts
Going way back in time with this one: Raz originally had a different design and a different name: Dart, short for D’Artagnan Alstublieft. The first name is a reference to Charles de Batz de Castelmore d’Artagnan, a French musketeer; the surname is Dutch for “please.” Character designer Scott Campbell stated that Dart was too weird looking, and replaced him with who we now know as Raz. Dart does appear in Psychonauts during the end cutscene, where you can see him stick his head out from an outhouse. Source: The Color of the Sky in Your World, Part 2.
Last Week’s Mojole Results
It’s the game that sweeps the nation! Can you beat Mojole, our fiendishly difficult daily puzzler? Only hardcore LucasArts aficionados need apply.
04 Feb: “vr#####” – It was one of those VR games.
05 Feb: “####yet” – … yet.
06 Feb: “bermuda” – Anyway, Rhombus of Ruin was based on the Bermuda Triangle.
07 Feb: “###ruin” – And I can only assume the Rhombus was of a Ruin.
08 Feb: “grand##” – The game is all about rescuing the... grand... grand what?... of the Psychonauts.
09 Feb: “###head” – That's right (maybe), the Grand Head of the Psychonauts.
10 Feb: “zanotto” – Truman Zanotto is his name.
And for the competitive amongst you, the Mojole forum thread has gone strong for more than two years. The two juggernauts to beat: Sushi and Huz.
