The Adventurer - Issue #15
It’s The Adventurer: Every week, we send an email full of news, media, and who-knows-what (we don’t) – make sure to share all the fun with your friends and loved ones!
The Editor Welcomes You
Based on some of the things that we’ve been sharing on Twitter the last couple of weeks, it seems we have more Atari and Amiga enthusiasts in our community than I realised. This delights me, having grown up with both machines. In particular, the Amiga’s luxuriously dark and moody rendition of Melee Island is the iconic look I remember most fondly.
A couple of Mojo staff have argued that the PC EGA edition of Monkey Island 1 is the definitive version, but it’s well known that I will not stand for the tyranny of opinion. Those guys have been enjoying a reorientation course, and will soon be back joining in with our regular discussions, such as what the real world would sound like in four channels.
Week in Review
The biggest non-Return to Monkey Island news of the week came from Double Fine, who is set to release both a Psychonauts 2 collector's edition and a Day of the Tentacle box set. Sure, it'll cost ya, but do your children really deserve a monetary inheritance?
Meanwhile, Jason sat down and chatted with the Curse of Monkey Island project leads on this 25th anniversary of the game. It's a four-page interview, so buckle down and prepare for anecdote overload.
Finally, as far as our general news coverage goes, Dom chatted with Cressup on Twitch. Go listen/view/whatever one does on Twitch.
PS! If you're into YouTube, we may or may not try to keep our channel up to date. Again.
#MonkeyIslandMondayFriday
Devolver has launched the #MonkeyIslandMonday hashtag, which is pretty much what you'd expect it to be. Up until ReMI is released -- many speculate that'll be Talk Like a Pirate Day, 22 September -- Devolver and friends will post small snippets from the game. To wit...

And as far as the game being close to done, this should be decent enough evidence...

We're All About the Twitter
You're already a fan of our "Monkey Island, Then and Now" series, and while that is on hiatus, we have launched "Monkey Island in Music." The inaugural tweet: A comparison of the chapter cards in all six games.

Grog! Grog! Grog!
