The Adventurer - Issue #20
It’s The Adventurer: Every week, we send an email full of news, media, and who-knows-what (we don’t) – make sure to share all the fun with your friends and loved ones!
The Editor Welcomes You
Did you know that we passed 200 subscribers this week? That’s two hundred of you (give or take a few dozen bots) enjoying my musings, plus the other content I believe one of my lackeys adds below. Not bad to say we only started a few months ago — here’s to the next 200.
Oh, adventure games, etc? Well, there’s been some good news happening there too. PlayStation gamers will soon get to enjoy Telltale’s Sam & Max games in their remastered glory, even more Return to Monkey Island footage has surfaced (Is it just me starting to tune out now so as to preserve the surprises?), and those hitting up PAX this weekend may get a chance to meet Monkey Island co-creator Dave Grossman [and Ron Gilbert, but Thrik is not familiar with this man -Remi].
Lovely stuff. I’m sure there’ll be more below about all this. Next week you’ll have to make do without my weekly column as I’m jetting off for a much-needed break from my executive duties. I’ll see you again just in time for Return to Monkey Island.
(We do have someone who does that, right? These newsletters can’t just be me talking crap. (Edit this bit out.)) [Note to self: Edit this out before sending. -Remi]
#MonkeyIslandMondayFriday
As we approach September 19th, we will quiet down a bit around these parts. People understandably don't want too many spoilers leading up to the soon-to-be-released Return to Monkey, as shown in our recent poll: Currently, 50.8% have no plans of viewing the almost-guaranteed-to-happen PAX trailer. Opinions are split straight down the middle!
With that said, if you haven't already seen the #MonkeyIslandMonday trailer, here's your chance. Or just ignore it if you would so prefer.
So, to look at something different to tide you over: Why not give the "Which Monkey Island has the smallest number of monkeys?" forum post a gander? The question may sound innocent enough, but with currently eighty replies, it gets vaguely surreal.
Did you know the original The Secret of Monkey Island demo is almost a completely independent game from the original?
And how about some Sam & Max? The remasters are heading to PlayStation!

Lime wedge or slices,for garnish
Gather the ingredients.
In a highball glass filled with ice cubes, pour the gin, then top with tonic.
Gently stir to combine, but not so much so that you lose carbonation.
