Hey-o!
Let’s just jump into it, shall we?
First and foremost, The Wolf Among Us Remastered dropped this week. We’ll dunk up a review early next week, but to give my early impression, I’m not sure I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who owns the original. More in-depth musings to come, but the gist is some annoying bugs and technical glitches. An example…

It’s also suspicious that larger outlets didn’t run any day-of reviews – instead, we saw a lot of paid content from TTG. Hmmm…
Still, it’s not a catastrophic remaster by any means, just somewhat disappointing. Most importantly, the enhancements – flawed or otherwise – don’t get in the way of what is a great game. Stay tuned on Mojo proper for more, and let’s toss in an apropos poll here:
In last week’s poll we asked if you played Sam & Max: Season One on release, and 76% of you affirmatively did. 16% caught up with it later, and 8% of you still haven’t played it. For shame.
Elsewhere, someone called The Angry Video Game Nerd - who, apparently, is well known in many circles – took on Maniac Mansion.
With 1.6 million views, the video is just slightly ahead of our “Secret History” article on the game, but go read that, too,
I didn’t get around to posting this on Mojo – much to Jason’s chagrin – but over at the SCUMM Bar we’ve added Special Edition animation browsers. And yes, they’re exactly what they sound like.
“SCUMM Bar/Quick & Easy collaborations are big deals, like Freddy vs. Jason.” – Jason (because, yes, that is the collaboration it is)
Elsewhere, if you’re looking for some Thank You Bus Driver chatter, well, here ya go.
And that’s about it, really. A slow news week, which apparently is an abnormality when we look back in the past:
33 years ago this week, Sam & Max Hit the Road released.
29 years ago this week, The Curse of Monkey Island released in Europe. Also, happy Halloween!
28 years ago this week, Grim Fandango came back from the dead. Or released. You know what I mean.
20 years ago this week, Sam & Max Save the World: Culture Shock released. (Technically released Oct 17, but who the hell subscribed to GameTap?)
17 years ago this week, Tales of Monkey Island: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood releases.
1 year ago this week, Ron “Ronzo” Gilbert unleashes Death by Scrolling.
Hey, they can’t be gold.
Toodles,
Remi

Last Week’s Mojole Results
It’s the game that sweeps the nation! Can you beat Mojole, our fiendishly difficult daily puzzler? Only hardcore LucasArts aficionados need apply.
23 Oct: “chimp##” – LeChimp, known and maybe loved.
24 Oct: “seven##” – I originally had ‘Plunder’ here, until I realized that was seven characters.
25 Oct: “murray#” – Back in the five-character version of Mojole, I made ‘murra’ a solution because... Well, I don’t know why. But it made many people give up on the game, so pat yourself on the back for still hanging around!
26 Oct: “lechuc#” – -k. Kind of like that! I promise LeChuck will be the first word in a seven-character Mojole.
27 Oct: “aric###” – Wilmunder. SCUMM legend and Nic Cage sound-alike.
28 Oct: “iron###” – ... Phoenix. Canceled Indy game that sounded pretty good.
29 Oct: “psycho#” – ... XXX. Tic-tac-toe solution and indisputable evidence that a Psychonauts is 3 in production.
And for the competitive amongst you, the Mojole forum thread has gone strong for more than two years. The two juggernauts to beat: Sushi and Huz Niemandswasser.
