Issue #85: “Surprisingly Acceptable”
Our Full Throttle Bonanza winner might just be *you*. Yes: you!
Just a quick issue today to wish y’all a happy new year, and, more importantly, to announce the winner of our Full Throttle Bonanza. For those in need of a reminder, we put out a Game of the Year poll here and on Mojo Proper, and one lucky winner was set to receive a Full Throttle bundle. As luck would have it, an Adventurer reader took home the prize. Without further ado, the winner is…
Eduardo N!
Congratulations! We shall contact you within the next few days to ensure you receive the prize in a timely-ish manner. (Last year’s winner, Sushi, can testify to how “timely” that was. 🤗)
Our 2025 recap – “Surprisingly Acceptable” – has posted over on Mojo, but to peruse some highlights:
Mojo Proper named Ron Gilbert’s (in my mind, surprisingly) excellent Death by Scrolling Game of the Year, while The Adventurer’s readers went with Double Fine’s Keeper. It is fitting, really, as both were excellent games deserving of the GOTY accolade. Some may remember our Keeper review posted in The Adventurer first, because of Mojo’s server issues, so give it another read if you so like.
Issue #79: “Keeper,” Reviewed and Loved
Mojo Proper™ has taken a tumble, so exclusively for The Adventurer’s subscribers, we’re posting our Keeper review here. Our actual website will hopefully be back in commission soon.
For the stats nerds amongst you, that was also our sixth-highest-visited issue of the year. The top five reads:
That aside, I think we’ll call it good for this week and for 2025! Thanks for being an Adventurer subscriber – if you know someone else who might be interested in the LucasArts+ nonsense we publish, please feel free to share the newsletter with them.
And, yes, for those looking for a special place in our hearts and minds, consider upgrading your subscription to a paid one! It will help us keep publishing The Adventurer and keep Mojo running. In fact, get 20% off, just for being you!
And that’s it: Happy New Year!
Only the best! Mojo has a web store for all your apparel and decoration needs. For example:
T-shirts! Don the original LucasArts logo, Manny Calavera’s face, or the OG Adventurer logo. Warning: Popularity will smack you in your face when you wear these masterpieces. (Merch also available as stickers, magnets, etc. Void where prohibited.)
Magnets! Stickers! Does your fridge look too plain? Your laptop lid too empty? Dress them up with vintage maps of Phatt, Scabb, and Booty.
